It’s an honor to connect with you!  I am Shannon, I like to think of myself as a Yoga Ecologist.  Ecology is the study of interactions and relations between organisms and their environment.  I have a BA in Biology from University California Berkeley.  Over the last 10+ years I have worked for the UC system as a field ecologist, studying mainly the impact of fungal pathogens in oak forests.

I am a natural historian/outdoor lover who has always wanted to make a contribution to living on a healthier planet.
While it is my passion to dork out on all things biological, I am also a middle eastern dancer who loves to cook and spend time with my husband playing drums, backpacking and traveling the world.

Yoga is the glue that has kept all these parts of myself together!

I can relate to you if you are in a lot of pain and/or way too stressed out.  I found yoga at a time my neck was always going out on me, and many hours either in front of the computer or on long drives to field sites led to unimaginable back pain, to the point where I didn’t even want to move anymore.  Nothing felt good.

I believe that self-awareness has an ecological benefit.

As I have become more self-aware and use yoga to soften and even eliminate physical pain, I notice I can breathe better, move through challenges more easily, and contribute more of myself to the people and things that I love.

This endeavor is an on-going process that I am committed to.  I have been teaching since 2008 and am most passionate about using biomechanical principles of alignment in yoga for therapeutic benefits.  The alignment principles nurture my inner-scientist and have empowered me with tools to heal a lot of my physical pain.

Shannon Lynch Yoga Ecology and Therapy I use both science and my intuition to guide my belief in the possibility of what could be.

The classes and workshops I offer, the adventurous retreats I take you on, and the one-on-one programs you enroll in with me are designed to serve my mission: to provide you with tools that empower you to enhance your quality of life.

When that happens, you relax into your own skin and EVERYBODY benefits!

This is Yoga Ecology.

What others say

Shannon Lynch Yoga Clients “Shannon brings joy and lightheartedness to her practice. After years of a more reserved practice, I find her method refreshing and approachable. Under her guidance, I am more optimistic about going deeper and taking risks, and I have had a lot of “firsts” and “aha moments” as a result. Yoga has become a celebration of my body, well as an awareness, and the rewards extend beyond the studio.~Amy Steelman Owner of Dogwood and Poppy | Bleeding Heart | Awesome Cook

Shannon Lynch Yoga TherapyWhen I first came to Shannon, I was frustrated with an elbow dislocation that hadn’t fully healed after a year of physical therapy.  The injury limited my ability to fully engage in climbing, biking, and yoga out of fear of re-injuring myself.  Through our work together, I was able to re-program old patterns and move in a more intuitive way with my body without experiencing pain.  Now, I utilize these tools in my hobbies and daily life activities- even with the jostling of mountain biking my elbow has been fine!  These tools Shannon provided me affirm the belief that I can heal myself.  If you value your active lifestyle, Shannon’s programs are for you.” ~Cambria Ortega 2nd Grade and YogaTeacher | Outdoor Athlete | Gardner
Shannon Lynch Yoga Therapy “I love how Shannon follows a message, a teaching, throughout her class.   I find her themes to be insightful, thought-provoking, inspiring and love that I learn something new each time.  Shannon has an amazing ability to connect with what is alive in her students and to validate how they feel, helping them leave behind the unnecessary, and to move forward.  Her laugh is full of life and I have to smile just thinking about it.” ~Gail Miller Inquisitive Yogi | Loving Wife and Mother | Reliable Friend
